Our society has seen significant changes over the past week. As we become used to what will be the new, hopefully short term normal, I understand that minor hockey is not likely a priority in your thoughts. This is extremely understandable but I did want to make you aware of a few things.
First, in the HEO/Hockey Canada memo dated March 13, 2020, not only has the remainder of all minor hockey seasons been cancelled but so have all team activities including banquets, team parties, as well as board, team, and committee meetings. Obviously this will affect end of year activities within the RMMHA. As a result, any team parties or gatherings that were planned must be cancelled.
Second, we will ask all RMMHA families to hold onto their sweaters, goaltender equipment, first-aid kits, etcetera until such time as we are permitted to resume normal operations.
Third, in an effort to limit any contact, we are asking teams to hold off on normal end of season activities such as closing team bank accounts, facilitating team refunds, etcetera.
Finally, the current situation will mean the postponement of our Annual General Meeting. Our constitution lays out a series of dates preceding the AGM which include dates for nominations, motions, etc and it does say that our AGM must be held by the end of April. After discussion with District 4 we have decided to postpone all significant dates related to the AGM and we will work towards quickly implementing the necessary steps to hold the AGM once restrictions have been lifted. In the meantime, the current board will remain in their current positions until such time as we can hold our AGM.
