Richmond Atom B Teams Finish 1, 2 in Petawawa!

Two Richmond Atom B teams, B1 and B3, travelled to Petawawa for a tournament of consisting of 16 teams.
Both teams did extremely well in the round robin play, both finished with 3 wins and 0 losses.  The Royals B1 team had three decisive wins against West Carleton B1 (5-2), Deep River (6-0) and the Leitrim Hawks (6-2).  The Royals B3 team had three impressive wins against the Cumberland Dukes B6 (1-0), West End B2 (1-0) and Petawawa 3 (2-0).
In the quarter-finals, both teams continued their strong play in with the Royals B1 team defeating Petawawa 3 (2-0) and the Royals B3 team defeating the Leitrim Hawks (2-1).
The semi-final round started Sunday morning with strong wins by both teams setting up an all Richmond final.  The Royals B1 team defeated the Embrun Panthers (3-2) and the Royals defeated West End B6 (6-1).  With these wins, both Richmond teams went an amazing combined 10 wins and 0 losses!
The final game highlighted the skill and hard work of both teams.  After the second period, the score was deadlocked at 0-0.  In the third period, the teams traded goals before the Royals B3 team won it with a late third period goal to win 2-1.
The Coaches and Managers of the Richmond Royals B1 and B3 teams are very proud of our players and would like to thank all the families for helping make this a great experience for our kids.
