The Richmond Royals Juveniles went undefeated in the Nepean Tournament held the weekend of January 13th – 15th. In the first game the boys played the home team and defeated them 6-0. They then met the Lietrim Hawks #1, winning 1-0, which moved them on to play the Gloucester Cougars. Our boys won this game 2-1. The semi-finals were played against the Lakeshore Tigers from Montreal and we beat this team 6-3, setting up the finals against Lietrim Hawks #2. This was a great game, which we were leading 1-0 in the second period. Our Captain and leader, Stewart McFall, scored a break-away goal with us short-handed 5 on 3, to make the score 2-0. In the third, Leitrim scored ending the game 2-1 in our favour. Everyone played fantastic; this was a great team effort from the goalie on out. Congratulations to all the boys; this was a well-deserved win which was dedicated to our former friend and Trainer, Dave Stacey, whom we lost just before Christmas.
