Richmond Royal’s Peewee C takes GOLD!

Congratulations to the Richmond Royal’s Peewee C team who took Gold this past weekend in the 3^rd Annual Cumberland Dukes House League Showdown. Opening with a 1-1 Friday morning draw against a formidable Aylmer team, the Royal’s built on this to earn well deserved 3-0 and 6-0 wins Saturday against Ottawa South End and the Leitrim Hawks.  The Royal’s were in tough Sunday morning  in their semi-final but came away with 1-0 victory, holding off a late charging Hull team in the last minute of play. Sunday afternoon saw the Royal’s play their league rival Stittsville Rams in the finals. After giving up the opening goal, the Royal’s fought back to even the score with 0.4s left on the board at the end of the first period. Carrying the momentum into the second period, the Royal’s took the lead in the second, and added two more to carry the day with a well-deserved 4-1 win. The whole team played extremely well, and along the way each of their two goalies earned a shut-out. Well done Royal’s!
